What is a 6-month sitter session?

A sitter session is a milestone photo session that typically happens when your baby can:

· Sit supported (and often sit independently for short periods)

· Smile and interact with you easily

· Grab their feet, clap, and show off those sweet expressions

Most babies are ready somewhere between 6–8 months.

Why this milestone is pure magic

Newborn photos are dreamy and timeless. First birthday sessions are a celebration. But 6 months? It’s the “in-between” stage that’s packed with personality. Here’s what makes it so special:

· Big smiles + bright eyes: Babies at this age are usually super engaged.

· Chubby rolls and tiny details: The wrists, the cheeks, the toes—this is peak baby.

· They’re not running yet: You get all the expression without the toddler sprint.

· So much connection: This age loves snuggles, giggles, and being close to you.

When should you book?

The best time to plan your sitter session is as soon as your baby is consistently sitting (even if it’s wobbly or supported). A good rule of thumb:

· If your baby is starting to sit: reach out now to reserve a date

· If your baby is sitting confidently, you’re in the sweet spot

What to expect during your session My sitter sessions are calm, baby-led, and designed to feel easy. Typically, we’ll include:

· Simple, timeless portraits of your baby

· A few different setups (depending on your package/session length)

· Parent snuggles and connection shots (optional, but always encouraged) If your baby needs breaks, cuddles, or a snack—no problem. We follow their lead.

What should baby wear?

Sitter sessions photograph beautifully with simple outfits that let your baby be the focus. Great options: ·       A neutral onesie

· A knit romper

· Soft textures (waffle, linen, ribbed cotton)

· Bare feet (always a yes)

If you’re not sure what photographs best, I’m happy to help you choose something that feels like you.

Can siblings be included?

Absolutely. If your baby has a big brother or sister, and your package allows, we can include a few sibling images too.

If you’re worried about a shy toddler (very normal), don’t stress. I’ll guide things gently and keep it pressure-free.

Why sitter sessions are perfect for prints. This is one of the best ages for printed artwork because the expressions are so joyful and timeless. Sitter portraits look beautiful as:

· A framed print for your hallway

· A small album you can flip through with your baby as they grow
